Sky Sports to show Super Bowl in HD

by BGonaSTICK

Sky Sports will broadcast one of the world’s most spectacular sports events - the Super Bowl - in high definition for the first time next February.

Super Bowl XLI will be the first US sports event and the sixth sport to be screened in HD by Sky Sports with the first Super League match in HD also on 4th February 2007.

Super Bowl XLI will be the climax of the busiest ever season of NFL on Sky Sports, with live coverage of up to four regular season matches each weekend, Thanksgiving match-ups and NFL Network games plus every playoff game.

The Sky HD box costs £299 with a £10 per month subscription, in addition to the regular Sky digital subscription, for viewing the Sky HD channels. The Super Bowl will also be shown in standard definition on Sky Sports alongside the HD coverage.
