New Security Chip Provides Strongest Key Encryption

Janet Harris

Deepnet Security has entered into a licensing agreement with Wave Systems Corp, to add TPM-based security to Deepnet Smart ID virtual smart cards, in order to protect users’ digital identities.

Smart ID is a smart card in software form, which provides security in the same way as a physical smart card, but at a much lower cost

The Smart ID virtual smart card can hold a users’ personal data, including private encryption keys, passwords, digital certificates and biometrics, within the protected environment of the internal file system.

Wave’s TCG Enabled Crytograhic Service Provider enables the encryption keys for Smart ID virtual smart cards to be automatically generated and protected by the unique standards-based Trusted Platform Module (TPM) hardware security chip, providing a new level of security.

The Trusted Platform Module vault is now provided as standard in business-class PCs.
