HDTV saw a surge in sales recently; partly due to the great prices offered during holiday sales. After shelling out big money to get the front row – fifty yard line view for the upcoming Super Bowl, many consumers have been disappointed to find that those pictures don’t exist.

For a true-high definition picture from cable providers, not only is a subscriptions necessary but a set-top box (which translates the data stream) is needy as well.

Getting an HDTV subscription is no problems for most consumers. Most local broadcasters offer some HD channels.

The problem for football fans who want to watch the big game in HD is that there have not been enough set top boxes to go around. This has caused panic for some diehard fans. Who can blame them? With the big game growing closer every day, hope for that perfect viewing experience seemed to grow dim.

Never fear – Time Warner is here.

Time Warner has announced that it will be rushing to install 1000 HD set tops in the North Carolina area before the Super Bowl kicks off on February 4. Although relief is in site, many consumers are waiting for the boxes to actually be in place before they breathe again.

The problems began when holiday HDTV sales hit a high unexpected by Time Warner. It was caught off guard by the surprising number of requests for the set top boxes.
