Motorola Launches MC35 PDA/Phone

Motorola has launched the MC35a PDA phone, which is targeted at mobile salespeople.

The device, which includes a barcode scanner, GPS and Bluetooth, is an update of the MC50 durable enterprise PDA made by Symbol which Motorola acquired in January. The MC35 uses software to decode barcodes through the camera.

While the MC50 used Wi-Fi and only worked in a user’s four walls, the MC35a is designed for mobile workers. It runs Windows Mobile 5.0, and includes 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 1.2, GPS, a 2 megapixel camera and supports email and Internet access.

The device comes with a guarantee that it will be manufactured for two years and support will be available for a further three years. Three years fully comprehensive coverage against accidental damage is available.
