VOIP Making It a Small World

-

When you make that call to your helpline (for your DVD player, your BBQ grill, or whatever else may be giving you trouble) it is very likely that you are going VOIP and you don’t even know it. Even more exciting it that you have no idea where your call may end up.

India is leading the world as the center for offshore call centers. These call centers are using the technology of VOIP to carry calls around the world with out a lot of expense. As the technology continues to improve, other countries are eyeing the call center services as a route to boost their economies.

In order to be able to utilize VOIP, the countries aiming to get into the market need to already have certain things in place. There must be a modern telecom and computing infrastructure. There must be a pool of technologically savvy and capable people to staff the phone lines. Most importantly, there must be companies (or a government) willing to make the investment in the startup of the venture.

As the internet continues to grow and services like VOIP expand even more, the world will continue to shrink. It is valuable to know that the local call you make today could actually be routed to India, or any other country that gets into the call service market. It is a small world after all.
