EMI & Warner in camera software deal with ShoZu

EMI Music and Atlantic Records UK have separately entered into deals with mobile content provider ShoZu, to allow selected artists to instantly upload live video footage and photographs from their phones onto social networking websites.

ShoZu’s patented technology uses data replication, which allows content to synchronise in the background without interrupting normal use of the phone. The software is compatible with 155 different mobile phones, including GPS and Wi-Fi enabled devices.

ShoZu’s technology lets users publish their own content such as videos and photos, from their phones to the web, and receive third-party content from the web on their phone.

Data is transferred between the ShoZu handset application and a server hosted by ShoZu, which then synchronizes data with third-party websites such as Flickr.

Atlantic Records will provide the system to bands such as Hard-Fi and Hadouken, while Air Traffic, Gisli and The Aliens will initially benefit from EMI’s deal with ShoZu, which will allow the bands to forge connections with their fans by delivering interesting and unique content.
