Dell drops Axim PDA range

Industrial Computers of Easthampnett, West Sussex, has launched the Archer Field PC/PDA.

The device is designed to be durable in extreme environments. It is compact in size and weighs less than 17 ounces, making it ideal for those in need of a pocket-sized Field PC for rugged applications.

The sturdy casing is made of lightweight magnesium and the device features easy-to-grip over-moulding.

The Archer Field PC/PDA runs Microsoft Windows Mobile version 5.0 and is powered by the Intel XScale 520Mhz processor.

Microsoft Excel Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, Word Mobile, Outlook Mobile, Internet Explorer Mobile, and ActiveSync for the desktop PC are included.

User accessible, sealed CF and SD card slots can accommodate a camera, GPS receiver, bar code scanner, RFID, or data storage cards.

The device is enabled for wireless communication via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cellular modem cards. Integrated bluetooth wireless technology is also available as an option.
