SubRosaSoft distributes MacLockPick

Jan Harris

SubRosaSoft is distributing MacLockPick, a USB thumb drive which can extract passwords, Internet history, and system settings from an OS X user just by plugging it into a USB drive.

The drive, which is only available to law enforcement officials, can pull every piece of private information off an OS X computer, including passwords, internet history, email account information and system settings.

The device is intended to allow investigators to perform live forensics on a suspect’s Mac OS X system. When the data has been collected it is compiled into a database on the flash drive for easy transportation away from the suspect’s system.

The database is viewable using included log readers on Microsoft Windows, Linux, or Apple Mac OS X computers back at the law enforcement officer’s base.
