LG’s Shine features Skyworks’ power amplifier module

Semiconductor manufacturer Skyworks Solutions has partnered with LG Electronics to provide mobile connectivity to LG’s record-selling Shine handset.

The Shine is LG’s second model from the premium Black Label Series.

The handset will benefit from the SKY77340, a highly integrated quad-band EDGE power amplifier which supports the European and US markets.

LG is also using Skyworks’ modules in its range of GPRS and CDMA Chocolate phones.

LG’s Shine weighs just 115 grams and features a stainless steel material base, expandable memory, an auto-focus, 2.0 megapixel camera, media player, and Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

Shine was the top-selling phone for UK retailer Phones4U for the two-week period after its launch.
