O2 Cocoon 3G handset announced

O2 launched the O2 Cocoon at the O2 Wireless Festival – its latest handset developed specifically for the style-led consumer.

As well as a unique white clamshell design, the device features a high-quality music player and the capacity to store 500 songs with the 2GB internal memory.

An additional 500 songs can be stored using a 2GB micro SD card.

A blue LED display can be programmed to show time, ‘now playing’ information and caller ID. It also displays the beginning of text messages as they arrive in the users inbox.

The device also features a two mega pixel camera, complete with auto-focus, 4x digital zoom, built-in flash and full screen viewfinder.

This is complemented by a high quality, ultra-bright QVGA (240×320) screen with 262,000 colour pixels for viewing pictures and videos.

The handset comes with a section of video clips from acts such as Paolo Nutini, Ash and The Doors. Other content includes EA Air Hockey and demo versions of The Sims 2 and Tetris®Mania.

The device has a standby time of up to 350 hours, talk time of up to five hours and up to 15 hours music playback time.

The O2 Cocoon comes with a two year manufacturer’s warranty and will be available from O2 stores and online at www.o2.co.uk from August 2007.
