The Korean telecommunications company KT who recently announced that that intended to launch IPTV into the Korean IPTV market through their TV brand Mega TV appear to have hit a bit of a snag. Apparently there are some legal complications in Korea which mean that broadcasting in real time cannot take place, naturally with this taken away from them the whole IPTV project is in jeopardy.
Not to be put off by something as simple as a legal problem, KT will be going ahead with their planned launch of an IPTV service, only this time not in Korea, but Russia. There will be a trail the IPTV service taking place in august.
KT already provides Internet services in including some IPTV services but no real time broadcasting, the legislation is due to changed, but those processes do take a very long time to get going, hence the Russian project.
