VOLNY, a telecoms operator based in the Czech Republic, has begun commercial operation of VOLNY TV, a new IPTV service, initially in Prague and parts of Brno.
VOLNY TV offers around 40 Czech and foreign TV stations, movie channels, video-on-demand and HBO Digital.
It also features the VOLNY Album, which allows photos to be published and shared on the Internet.
Viewers can compile a selection of programmes they want to watch via the “My TV” function, creating their own personalised channel.
The service also includes an Electronic Programme Guide, providing information about all TV stations 14 days before airtime, plus movie info and reviews.
VOLNY TV is planning to introduce more interactive features in the future.
A basic package, including rental of modem and set-top box, costs CZK 297 per month.
For CZK 996 a month, VOLNY TV subscribers also get an unlimited 2Mbps Internet connection and phone calls.
