The latest version includes the ability to organize contacts into groups or use pre-defined groups such as Online or Recently Contacted. It also provides integration with Apple Address Book contacts.

Public chats can be managed and created simply by clicking on Chats in the menu bar. There is even a public-chat assistant to demonstrate the necessary steps.

Other new features include auto-redial for busy or unconnected calls; easy sound-level controls; and an improved file transfer engine which should make file transfers smoother.

Skype 2.7 will also recognise if the default language on the Mac is Czech or Norwegian and automatically adopt the same language settings.

Skype 2.7 is compatible with Mac running OS X v10.3.9 or later.

It is available to download for free from Skype’s website, with a download size of 31.8MB.
