Infrastructure systems company EMC has launched Smarts VOIP Performance Manager and Smarts VOIP Performance Reporter to help companies manage their IP telephony system.

The software allows companies to monitor, diagnose, and report on their VoIP system, with Performance Manager providing real-time data, while Performance Manager carries out data analysis.

The package provides alerts on issues that could affect IP telephony services, including information about phone calls, voice quality, availability of phone service and interconnections to telecoms providers.

It helps companies maintain good service levels by reporting on trends and providing historical performance data. Data from multiple sources is analysed in order to diagnose IP telephony and IT infrastructure problems.

Smarts software is designed for global enterprises and managed service providers, and can manage hundreds of IP PBXs and hundreds of thousands of phones. It is ideal for firms replacing vendor legacy PBXes.

Current system support includes Avaya Communications Manager, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unified CallManager and Cisco CallManager, and the software can also be integrated with other third-party management systems.

Both Smarts VOIP Performance Manager and Smarts VOIP Performance Reporter are available now, priced at around £13 to £18 per phone. There is also an annual maintenance fee.
