Hitachi announces 103-inch 1080p plasma TV

Hitachi has become the second company to offer a giant, 103-inch plasma TV, following Panasonic which launched its own 103-inch plasma in 2006.
The model includes special features to support business applications, including advertisement display or video conferencing with multiple video sources. It also features 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and a 5,000:1 contrast ratio.
The Hitachi CMP1030WFJ weighs a hefty 485 pounds. It is made by order and will start shipping in October. Pricing details have yet to be revealed.
Hitachi has also released the 65-inch CMP650FWJ full HD TV, which features a 10,000:1 contrast ratio.
