Dotlight launches beta version of Internet-based reality TV

London-based firm Hollywood Entertainment Exchange Plc, an online entertainment platform provider, is launching the Dotlight project, a website which brings reality TV to the online environment and allows the user to find and broadcast content.

The project is backed by Frankfurt-listed investment bank Swiss Hawk, which holds a 40% stake in the project.

The website allows consumers to create their own online versions of American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance or Top Model. They can even devise their own talent show.

Consumers can now register at www.thedotlight.com to become a test user for Hollywood Entertainment’s beta website. Registered users will be able to test the functionality of the site and contribute to future development of the service.

The site goes live in October 2007.
