Panasonic TH-50PZ700U: best flat screen ever tested
by Janet Harris

Panasonic Electronics’ 50-inch, TH-50PZ700U high-definition, plasma television was named the “best flat screen ever tested” in a new electronics report from Consumer Reports magazine.
The TV, which is priced at $2,900, was found to offer superior detail, rich vibrant colors and deep blacks which almost made images look 3D.
The unit secured the accolade out of 150 TVs tested by the publication. The report was part of Consumer Reports’ annual electronics issue.
The report recommended Plasma over LCD, for providing more screen size than similar priced LCD sets. It also found that plasma offered better viewing angles.
However LCD was found to be cheaper to run, and was superior for live sports events and action movies.
The report also found that the best HDTV bargains were to found online, rather than on the high street.
