Paul Cleghorn in London and Marc Colando in Seattle have launched TIOTI.com, a social television network site.
TIOTI (Tape It Off The Internet) provides a portal to television programmes available online.
TIOTI.com indexes over 75,000 television programmes and 500,000 episodes. The site has now been opened up to the public following a successful trial period.
The site is an aggregator of online TV content and a social network for user generated content about TV shows. It provides episode guides and other features to help users find and select programmes.
TIOTI uses Web 2.0 technologies to provide a responsive user experience. A Wiki-style interface allows users to add and edit programme and episode information. There is also support for feeds, discussions and messaging.
Each episode listed on the site has three link options. Premium links include services such as Amazon unbox and Apple iTunes. Streaming links include online services such as YouTube and Jooost. Other links include content available on the internet for download.
