TIOTI (Tape It Off The Internet) has secured first-round, seven-digit funding from Pond Venture Parners, Europe’s largest early-stage technology venture capital fund.
The company, which launched its service in October, also recently received an investment from Alegro Capital.
TIOTI now indexes over 75,000 television shows and more than 500,000 individual episodes on www.tioti.com. The site does not host any video content itself, but directs users to where content is available for download.
Users are directed to video-sharing sites such as YouTube and download services such as Joost, as well as other sources.
TIOTI is growing rapidly, having doubled its number of registered users, while traffic to the site has increased by 300%.
TIOTI now plans to invest in technical infrastructure to support further growth in users and to improve and extend its service to a broader range of consumers across a number of platforms.
With the current rapid growth in online video and TV, TIOTI aims to be a one stop shop for people seeking TV content.
