Espial secures $1.5m order from major European IPTV provider

Espial Group, a leading provider of IPTV middleware and applications, has secured an initial order from one of the largest providers of triple play services in Europe, with over 1.5 million subscribers. The value of the order, which is for Espial's Evo IPTV Service Platform as part of a larger turn-key contract through a channel partner, is in the region of $1.5m

The innovative hybrid cable-IPTV service is scheduled for deployment in 2008, during which the majority of contract revenues will be recognised.

The operator wishes to keep its IPTV plans confidential until the service launch. The contract was made with Espial after six months of testing, verification, and planning, and after evaluating many other major IPTV middleware platforms.

The operator selected Evo IPTV based on its ability to meet a rigorous list of requirements, which included a fast, intuitive and highly customisable user interface that provides a superior quality of experience for subscribers. Standards-based support was also one of the important criteria considered.

Espial has licensed over 1.3 million units of its Evo IPTV software to operators around the world. Evo was ranked third in the world, with 8.2% of total IPTV subscribers using its middleware software at the end of the second quarter of 2007.
