Current TV to launch in UK

Current TV, a web and cable TV platform founded by former US vice-president Al Gore, is launching its current.com website in the UK.

The site provides interactive features, allowing viewers to comment on the channel by text, video or mobile phone message.

Users can also record a one-minute message on a topical subject, which could be broadcast on the channel at a later date.

Users who contribute content to the channel can post briefs for other community members to contribute to their videos.

A guide, called ‘On TV’, provides details of what is on-air and background details on the videos.

Current TV is available in the UK on Sky Digital and Virgin Media.
