Nokia has announced two special editions of its 8800 phone – the stylish 8800 Arte, and 8800 Sapphire Arte.
The slider phones feature metal and glass bodies, with a smooth slider action provided by a ball bearing and spring mechanism. An anti-fingerprint coating helps to prevent smears on the shiny surface.
Both phones benefit from 3G capability, a 3.2-megapixel auto focus camera with 8x digital zoom and 1GB of built-in memory.
The Nokia 8800 Arte has a 2-inch QVGA 240×320 pixels, OLED display with up to 16 million colours, and a turn-to-mute feature, which silences the phone when it is turned with the screen-side down.
A genuine sapphire decorates the casing of the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte, which is expected to ship in 2008. The 8800 Arte will ship before the end of the year.
A Nokia BH-803 Bluetooth headset, leather pouch and matching desk stand will be included with both handsets.
