Blu-ray beats HD DVD on disc sales in Europe

Sales of Blu-ray movie discs have exceeded one million in Europe, outselling the rival HD DVD format by more than 2-1, and according to the Blu-ray Disc Association, if Blu-ray gaming discs were included in the figures, the number would be 21 million sold.
Blu-ray discs account for 73 per cent of all high definition movie discs sold in Europe. The sales data was supplied by Media Control Gfk International.
The best selling Blu-ray titles were 300, Spider-Man 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.
