LG’s 47LY95 LCD TV, at 47-inches, has a discreet presence that ultimately disillusions you with its massive size. With its unique ultra-thin profile complete with a glossy finish and a matching stand, accentutated with flush fitting speaker on either side, everyone will enjoy its cool and stylish look.

The 47LY95 offers a full HD 1080p LCD screen (1920×1080 pixel) for a very practical price of less than £1,400 ($2,800). That is a bargain indeed for a full HD LCD set of this size and performance.

The LG 47LY95 looks great simplistic and stylish design and to sweeten things up, its connections are decent. This LG set offers two HDMI inputs with full 1080p/24fps support. Other inputs include 2x Scart, component, composite, PC VGA input, S-Video, CAM slot and audio ports.

The most impressive feature of LG’s 47LY95 is its new Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution which could potentially give a marked improvement in the display of sources such as Sky Tv (1080i) where the 1080 lines of resolution match the resolution of the screen negating the need for any picture scaling to fit (with LG’s 1:1 pixel mapping through HDMI). At 47in, LG’s 47LY95 has the size to really take advantage of this configuration.

As far as performance is concerned, the LG 47LY95 has the ability to produce supremely sharp and detailed High Definition (HD) pictures. The 1:1 pixel mode comes into its own on the 47in screen with negligible picture noise and wonderfully vibrant colours. Furthermore, it is one of those set that produces one of the most vibrant colour performances seen on any LCD, with an intensity to hues that LG’s have built a reputation for, but with the addition of subtle colour blends which previous LG’s have tended not to produce.

With a great HD performance, the LG 47LY95 LCD TV could be one of those sets that form the average users home cinema system. Its ultra-bright colours make it the sort of TV that really stands out in a shop environment.
