Virgin Media in washout

by David Allen

Normally for cable companies it’s the cables that are causing the problems, but at the Informa European Media Leaders Summit in London, it seemed to be a bit of a washout.

This happened when the head of content for Virgin Media Malcolm Wall, was giving his speech regarding the how IPTV in the UK is being stalled by the average speeds of just 2 mbps. When amazingly a water pipe that was situated just where the lighting rig was, suddenly burst.

As everyone knows water and electricity do not mix very well and as all of these top executives where standing on the wet stage it seemed only sensible that they made a quick exit.

The speech was never completed, but Virgin Media are forecasting an upgrade to 50 mbps!
