BSkyB has re-launched its Sky Anytime on PC online video service following a number of upgrades. The service was initially launched in January 2006.
The company has added programming under its Sky Real Lives channel and video from Sky News will be added later this month. These channels will join the existing channel portfolio comprising Sky One, Sky Sports, Sky Movies and Sky Arts.
BSkyB has also added video licensed from third party channels, including The History Channel, Crime & Investigation Network and National Geographic Channel.
The company has provided online access to sports and other genres of programming to non Sky-TV customers for the first time, including Sky Sports clips which are available for £5 a month.
As well as strengthening content, BSkyB has also upgraded the service to a web-browser based application, in order to make navigation and searching for programmes easier.
In January 2007 BSkyB has registered 250,000 customers for Sky Anytime on PC, who had downloaded 1 million movies.
