Sky will survive downturn
by David Allen
Speaking at the UBS Media Conference being held in New York, the Chief Finance Officer of BSkyB, Jeremy Darroch told the audience that despite fears of a downturn the UK economy they (BSkyB) would be able to hold their own if the UK consumers had to cut back on their spending.
In fact he went as far as to say that in a declining economy, people are inclined to spend more time at home, so it is the eating out and other recreational activities that suffer, but they will always need to have the TV and telephone, so they are confident that they will be able to hold onto their customers and their market share too.
