OQO unveils pocket-sized PC with HSDPA

OQO, a manufacturer of ultra mobile PCs, has launched the e2, a full featured PC with embedded HSDPA mobile broadband. The PC measures just 142mm(W) x 84mm(H) x 26mm(D) and weighs 454g with a standard battery in place.
With wireless connectivity provided via WiFi 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 technology, the e2 will connect customers in Europe and Asia at speeds of up to 3.6Mbps, even without a WiFi hotspot.
The device runs on a 1.6GHz Via technologies CPU, with 1GB of DDR2 Ram and up to 120GB of hard drive space.
It has a sliding 5 inch (127mm) WVGA LCD screen and features a backlit thumb keyboard, track stick, and capacitive TouchScrollersâ„¢.
The e2 is encased in a magnesium alloy chassis for durability, with a shock mounted hard drive or optional solid state drive.
When not on the road, an optional OQO docking station allows the e2 to be connected to a full size display, keyboard, mouse, and wired Ethernet, in order to function as a desktop PC.
The e2 is available now, for around £1,099 excluding VAT.
