Sharp has announced a second generation widescreen 32-inch (LC-32GP3U) Full HD 1080p AQUOS LCD TV, specially optimised for gaming.

As well as a stylish, slim-line design, the new GP3U model is designed to handle the highest frame rates of the most sophisticated video games currently available.

Sharp has designed the set to enhance the gaming experience, with a range of features. A swivel base makes viewing easier and the speakers are located at the bottom of the set, reducing overall width for ease of fit inside cabinets and armoires.

The HDTV features a Vyper Drive which reduces the lag time between the game console input and the TV display to imperceptible levels.

The remote control has a Game Mode button, providing quick and easy access to the side terminal inputs, which are positioned for easy connection to a video game console.

Connection to a rear terminal is also possible by changing the Vyper Drive and Game Mode to a different input.

Connectivity is provided via two sets of component inputs and three HDMI version 1.3 (x.v.ColorTM), inputs, all compatible with 1080p signals.

PC connectivity is enabled via a 15-pin D-sub terminal or through the use of a DVI-I to HDMI adapter.

The LC-32GP3U-B will be available in December, priced at $1,599.99.
