Fanfare gets NBC Universal

by David Allen

This partnership between NBC Universal and Fanfare will see programmes such as the US version of the Office and the sci fi hit series Heroes becoming available through the Fanfare platform. This is where single programmes like the above can be downloaded onto the computer and then watched via a normal television or mobile device.

Fanfare is a new service from San Disk which will be available from January for downloads to computers, the device used is called TakeTV this connects to the computer where the programme is downloaded, this is then taken to the TV set where an adapter has been fitted and the programme can be watched in your own time.

They say that this competes with Apple TV, but in reality is doesn’t because it have no wires that directly connect the device to the TV, its ok but depends on programming and cost of course.
