Loss of broadband for Virgin Media
by David Allen
The customers of Virgin Media were experiencing life without broadband last night, and in some places this problem has continued into today.
There were lost links reported at 9.00 pm last night in many parts of country which just shows the scale of the problem and that it was not just affecting one place. There were problems appearing in the network throughout the day, but by the evening the system let go and it went offline.
It seems that the problem whatever it was has been cleared up now, but there are some complaints about speed variations etc. Virgin Media posted that they has experienced a Critical Service Outage, which apparently is the highest level on the fault scale.
Virgin Media have been in the firing line recently with regards to their premium rate broadband support phone lines and the fact that there advertised performance does not match the performance that the customers are getting.
