Sky Anytime adds new movie content

by Lin Freestone

Sky has agreed terms with Paramount and Warner Bros, and becomes the first online download service to offer movies from the six major movie studios on its Sky Anytime on PC service.

The Paramount agreement will bring movies including Mission: Impossible 3, The Weather Man, Saving Private Ryan and Top Gun. In the New Year all Sky customers will be able to download titles including Shrek The Third and Transformers through Sky Box Office.

The Warner Bros deal includes Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire, Superman Returns and Poseidon.

Sky Anytime on PC has offered movies from 20th Century Fox, Universal, Sony, and Disney since its launch in January 2006.

Sky TV subscribers that have signed up to Sky Movies can access between 400 and 500 movies at no additional cost. A selection of pay-per-view movies is also available.

A selection of the content is also available to selected Sky+ and Sky HD homes.
