Online Santa fails to deliver
by David Allen
The government consumer watchdog Consumer Direct, have received over 3,000 complaints about the late deliveries in the rush to get the present in time for Christmas. This is a big disappointment of the whole internet process which is running really well, many people have found that the system works.
In fact over the same period there were over twenty seven million consumers who spent between them around £15 billion in online sales, which is up one third on the previous year. It has to be said that due to the work put in by all of the companies involved to make this right and yet there are the complaints many of these were gifts and probably not wanted now, so there will be the issues of refunds etc.
But buying online is probably much safer than buying in the stores, because you can find that the buyer has more rights, because of the distance selling regulations and credit card protection.
