Broadband speed running at 35%

by David Allen

In study made of the UK’s broadband system and of the consumers who use the system it has been found that they are not getting the advertised speed in fact far from it. Most consumers understand that the advertised speed is not going to always be possible this could be due to demand etc.

But it has been found that some users have been only getting 35% of the advertised speed, which is clearly not good enough if something is advertised as being a certain speed then we would expect that to be achieved most of the time, this should not be something that people should have to keep complaining about.

The ISP’s with the most consistent speeds are Sky and Virgin Media, and at the other end of the scale there are Talk Talk from the Carphone Warehouse and Supanet.
