Google worries UK media

by David Allen

Being in an industry that has remained Google free is great, but when the search engine to media group decide that they are going to enter the UK media sector, this worries those businesses already well established in that sector.

It seems that Google is looking extend its print ads auction system, which is basically selling space on their pages. With revenues already low this is bothering some of the UK’s established media companies such as Trinity and Channel Four, the UK is one of the few countries where Internet advertising reaches over fifteen per cent.

They say that competition is good for the consumers, but is a business like Google moving in on these areas good for UK businesses? It would not appear to be so if we go on the reports coming in.
