Ladbrokes go with Turf TV

by David Allen

The biggest bookmaker in the UK has finally succumbed to the pressure from the industry which has supported the racing service Turf TV, where all of the live horse race meetings are shown in the countries betting shops.

Ladbrokes are a shareholder in the rival service Satellite Information Services (SIS) Betting Channel, which is probably why there so much opposition to the service being provided by Turf TV. But they had already missed out on two live races from Cheltenham earlier in the week.

Now that they have signed up to the service, it is presumed that they will also drop the legal challenge against Turf TV and the technology partner Alphameric, Ladbrokes have 2200 betting shop throughout the UK and now that they have signed up then it is supposed that all the other bookmakers will follow suit.
