Panasonic unveils world's biggest plasma TV
by Janet Harris

Panasonic opened the CES event in Las Vegas by revealing ‘The Life Screen’, a 150 inch plasma TV which Panasonic claims is the world’s biggest plasma television set.
The TH46PXZ850 TV is designed for use as a billboard or display. The optimum viewing distance for a screen this size is 30 feet and it weighs between 1,500 and 1,800 pounds, so it isn’t going to appeal to the consumer market.
The model has a resolution of more than 8.84 million pixels (2,160 by 4,096). This is more than four times the typical resolution for HDTVs (1,080 by 1,920).
The TH46PXZ850 should be available in 2009, but pricing details have not yet been released. Panasonic’s 103 inch model, launched last year, currently retails for approximately $75,000 per unit.
