EU stops Dublin’s free Wi-Fi

'EU stops Dublin’s free Wi-Fi

It is not an unusual idea, a town or city council allowing the people to have free access to a free wi-fi network and this is exactly why Ireland’s capital Dublin decided it would be great to offer their tax payers free broadband access through the cities brand new wi-fi network.

Unfortunately the city had not thought to ask the European Union if they had any concerns about the proposals.

But considering that the EU are experts at throwing money away, they actually do not like governments and councils giving out cash for start up projects, when there are enough European based businesses who could do the job.

Apparently this falls under this umbrella and so Dublin’s free wi-fi is not going to happen, for now!
