Government scheme gets pilot plan

by David Allen

There has been much talk about the recent decision that the government has made to encourage all school children to get access to a broadband service in order for them to able to complete their heavy workloads by researching on the internet.

Now a pilot scheme has been announced which will see a £600,000 invest plan put into place, this will be run by the body that oversees education BECTA and will be in partnership with PC World, RM, Dell and Intel.

This pilot plan will initially be offering a home PC access to all families in just fifty schools around the UK. But this just highlights the seriousness of the job at hand, which is not going to easy as there are at the moment one million school children without internet access, but what those who have computers and internet, is it fair that some parents can get a computer and internet access for nothing?
