'Digital for All' upgrade drive for UPC Ireland customers

Chorus Communications and NTL Ireland network customers of UPC Ireland are being offered a free upgrade to digital.

UPC Ireland is investing €10m in the effort to port its remaining analogue customers onto the more bandwidth-efficient digital service. In addition to the upgrade drive, the cable operator is undertaking a rolling network upgrade programme valued at €300m.

As part of the “Digital for All” campaign, UPC customers will be offered a free digital set top box with no additional monthly subscription for six months. After the initial six month period, an additional €2.50 per month will be charged.

UPC Ireland, which comprises the networks of NTL Ireland and Chorus Communications Ltd, is Ireland’s largest video cable service provider, based on customers served. The company has been working for a long time to improve the availability, quality and affordability of its digital TV product.
