More shopping centre kiosks planned by Sky
by Lin Freestone
Sky is planning to expand its network of retail kiosks in shopping centres during 2008.
During the year, Sky will open a further 80 kiosks throughout the country, bringing its total portfolio to 250. The expansion is the result of a new agreement between Sky and Land Securities, one of the UK’s largest shopping centre owners.
Retail stores are seen as an increasingly important part of Sky’s marketing capability. They deliver an engaging experience for consumers who value face-to-face contact.
Their success is demonstrated not only by the number but by the quality of customers joining Sky in this way. With services such as Sky+ and Sky HD changing the way people watch TV, the opportunity to demonstrate the company’s products to millions of consumers each week is a huge asset.
