WiMax launched in Milton Keynes

As the first commercial WiMax venture is launched in the UK by local organisation ConnectMK and Freedom4 which is part of the Pipex group.

The get things going over a thousand people have already signed up as being interested in registering for this service, while a local marketing campaign has been launched which will involve representatives calling on homes with details.

The residential WiMax service is available at a starting price of £20 per month for 1 Mbps and a 10 GB data use limit. Customers will also need to pay an up front set up fee of £45 and the contract will last for 12 months.
