The ISPA brand BPI a villain
by David Allen
Like a pressure cooker that is about to explode, this is the broadband providers are like at the moment, there is a move towards the illegal file sharing that is still going on, despite all of the measures and safe guards that are being put in place.
The BPI who look after all of the rights of music producers in the UK, have been branded the Villain of the Year as they have been nominated by the ISPA for their role in trying to prevent file sharers from operating, their approach to this has been somewhat heavy handed.
Another nomination is the opposition leader David Cameron, he has been seen as getting to comfy with the record industry and trying to appear that he appeals to younger audience.
This year’s ‘Hero’ nominees:
Financial Services Authority (FSA)
The Rt. Hon. Stephen Timms MP, Minister of State for Competitiveness
Peter Robbins OBE QPM, Chief Executive, IWF
Derek Wyatt MP
This year’s Villain nominees are:
BPI
BT Wholesale
David Cameron MP
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC)
Nicolas Sarkozy, The French President
The winners will be announced on the 14th March.
