Nokia‘s N95 8GB multimedia device has become the first ever mobile phone to receive Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) certification.
DLNA is a common connectivity platform for consumer electronics devices, created through a collaboration of around 245 consumer electronics brands.
A DLNA certified device is guaranteed to connect conveniently and intuitively with other DLNA-approved gadgets.
The Nokia N95 8GB has been certified as a “Mobile Digital Media Server” which means that content, including music, photos and videos, can be shared wirelessly between the phone and other DLNA certified devices.
For example photos stored on the N95′s eight gigabytes of built-in memory can be shared with friends and family on a DLNA Certified TV, or music can be played on a home stereo system.
DLNA has already certified over 1800 products in the personal computer and consumer electronic categories.
