Recent court papers filed by 300 banks in New England detail the lawsuit against TJX. The court papers give details about the various security breaches that led to holes in the security at TJX. Mastercard and Visa stated TJX were given a guideline of at least 12 major security measures that should be in place when dealing with credit card transactions, or credit card details. However, details of the lawsuit state that TJX had only implemented 3 of these twelve security measures.

At least 45.6 million credit card accounts might have been exposed due to seurity breaches at TJX. These security breaches happened between 2005 – 2008. Police have confirmed that at least $8 million dollars have been charged in fraud scheme using credit cards that were exposed.
