Ofcom wants to be consumer friendly<br />

There have been some changes at the telecommunications regulator Ofcom, mainly due to the premium rate phone charge schemes that have been operating recently for television show competition and voting lines.

But it is broadband that is of interest here and what Ofcom can do to increase the speed and cut the price. Its not that the packages are expensive the problem lies with the packages that the various companies are offering.

It is estimated that there are some 530,000 different packages for both TV and Broadband, so it is little wonder that consumers are confused over pricing and costs for individual services. It is more transparency that is needed, this will enable to consumers to realise the costs involved with whatever package they choose.
