New book channel launched
by David Allen
Combining books, internet and satellite TV sounds like a great idea, and Borders Books are about to launch their new IPTV channel at Borders.co.uk. The channel will be totally about books, authors, news etc, but the really interesting part is that visitors will be able to produce their own videos of them reviewing books and then upload them to the site where other users can view and probably even do their own review.
Borders Books already has 700,000 customers who will be receiving details on the content as well as being featured on the Simply TV channel which is broadcast on Sky channel 196.
The concept is being produced in tandem with Simply Media who already own and run the Bookzone.tv, this however will now be changed to Borders Book Zone, and will already have a selection of over a hundred interviews with well known writers such as Ian Rankin, Terry Pratchett, Michael Connelly, Martina Cole, Katie Fforde, Gary Rhodes and Jane Moore.
