Netgear has recalled its European range of XE103 85Mbps powerline Ethernet adaptors.
In order to remove the need for installing additional Ethernet cables, the adaptors are designed to establish a home network over electricity cables.
The issue appears to be associated with the risk that the device may overheat under some circumstances, causing a fire.
The units are being recalled as a precautionary measure as RegHardware reports that Netgear have not actually had any reports of this happening.
The recall only affects 220-240V versions of the adaptors.
Customers can verify if their product is on the recall list by visiting the Netgear website.
