Sony’s goal is to “recreate the original cinematic viewing experience as closely as possible at home”, with it’s latest launch, the Sony VPL-VW40 Home Projector.
Sony says, each frame is digitally enhanced; noises are reduced, while colours are vibrant, thanks to BRAVIA ENGINE (a custom processor).
Originally developed for cinema projection systems, the SXRD panel technology delivers the full 1920×1080 resolution, and the projector boasts 2.5ms response time, and contrast ratios of 15,000:1.
The player will be compatible with the likes of the Play station PS3 and Blu-ray players, via two connectors, handling a 1080/24p input.
No pricing has been confirmed, but we know the player will have operational sound levels of 22db, and an easy to use keypad.
