Yahoo, cuts a 1,000 jobs<br />

It’s a sign of the times that businesses are finding difficult to make do, but when a company the size of Yahoo announces that they will be laying off over a thousand employees in order for the company to be able to develop and survive well into the future.

The chief executive Jerry Yang reported that the company’s profits had fallen by twenty three per cent on the year. It is not a very good situation for company the size of Yahoo and in a marketplace where other similar businesses are doing fine.

The problem for Yahoo is that they have some tough times ahead, which will see if these plans have made any difference at all to the company performance. There is a lot more competition out there and with a recession threatening to bite there could also be problems for Yahoo as advertisers slim down their spending budgets.
